Delivered Friday afternoon
Your Harvestly bag lands on your doorstep Friday afternoon. You'll get a text when your driver is on the way, and another when your order has arrived. Feel free to meet your driver at the door or keep it contactless. Our drivers are local too: they get to know your stop, your dog, and they read your delivery preferences. All of your tip goes directly to your driver in full.

Order in 6d 3h for delivery Friday, Nov 13
Everything is made or harvested within 48 hours of reaching your door, and San Luis Obispo sits right on the Friday route.
Picked this week, not last week
Thursday's harvest, Friday's dinner.
Food that has to cross the country gets picked early enough to survive the trip - a thing you can taste in a tomato. Ours only has to survive the drive across town: strawberries picked ripe in Arroyo Grande, eggs from up the road, and local prepared foods and baked goods made with local ingredients.
Harvestly and San Luis Obispo
Harvestly started here in 2020, when a Cal Poly student wanted an easier way to buy from the small farms just outside town. It has been a nonprofit since 2021.
Good local produce is easier to find on a restaurant menu than in your own kitchen. Closing that gap is the whole reason this exists.
We are a nonprofit, and here is how the money works
Harvestly nurtures a local food system where farmers and makers can build livelihoods for generations, community members know and get excited about the farms and kitchens near them, and everyone has easy access to fresh local food.
Vendors set their own prices and keep at least 75% of what you spend. The rest runs the market: Friday delivery, someone answering the phone, and getting more people to notice this food exists. The market is part of the program, not a gift shop funding a separate cause, and it is how a farm with eight acres reaches a few hundred households.
By our own count, the same pickups and the same Friday routes have moved 250,000 pounds of local food to the SLO Food Bank and other Central Coast food banks and local school districts.
The shop is not all of it. The same trucks and the same ordering platform have carried food to the SLO Food Bank by the pallet - institutional work, done on contracts.
We work with the SLO Food Bank, People's Self-Help Housing, ECHO, Transitions-Mental Health Association and City Farm SLO.
Harvestly is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. EIN 82-2069002.
That is the whole model. Start with your address.
Get startedSome of the farms behind a San Luis Obispo order
Every item names the farm or kitchen it came from, so you always know whose hands it passed through. A few you will see a lot around here:
-
City Farm SLO
A nonprofit farm in town, and a vendor here. In their words: "Our produce is grown with only organic inputs and regenerative practices."
-
Hijas de la Fresa
Daughters of the strawberry. By their own account: integrated pest management, compost and cover crops.
-
Mt Olive Organic Farm
Strawberries, when they are in. Worth watching for.
-
Growing Grounds Farm Santa Maria
Heirloom varieties, and they say they grow without pesticides. Also a program of Transitions-Mental Health Association.
-
Brannum Family Farms
They put it better: "We never apply pesticides or chemical fertilizers. That's not a certification - it's just how we farm."
The largest selection of Central Coast farms, bakers and kitchens, with more than 1,300 local products between them.
When a farm describes how it grows, we quote the farm. Harvestly does not certify anyone. One honest exception to the local rule: our dairy is Straus Family Creamery, organic milk from family farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties, stocked by us because customers kept asking.
Know your farmer
Every farm and maker keeps their own storefront here, with a personal bio that tells their story. And every product has a place to ask the grower a question directly, any time. You always know whose hands your food passed through.
Any of them can go in one cart. Ordering closes Wednesday at midnight.
Get startedWhat it costs
- Delivery is $5 under $50, free at $50 and up.
- A 5% service fee covers vendor pickup, packing, the Friday route, and the insulated bag and ice packs.
- Orders start at $15.
- 10% off your first order.
- No subscription, no membership.
- Unhappy with anything? Email us and we refund it, no questions asked.
- The bag comes back. Leave it out next delivery day with the ice packs, jars, egg cartons and clamshells. We clean and sanitize them and get them back to the vendors.
Not a CSA, and not a subscription box
Nothing against either, they are just a different thing: with a CSA share or a produce box, somebody else decides what goes in it. Here you pick every item, every week, and skip whenever you like. If your kid will only eat cucumbers this month, order eight cucumbers.
Ready when you are
Ordering closes Wednesday at midnight for Friday delivery.
