Description

Rich. Moist. Satisfying.

Baked with locally grown zucchini from Growing Grounds Farm and our signature sourdough base, this muffin is the perfect balance of indulgence and nourishment. The sourdough adds a gentle tang and natural lightness, making each bite deeply flavorful and perfectly satisfying.

Decadent double chocolate gives it that cozy, dessert-like richness, while the fresh zucchini keeps it moist and tender — no dry muffins here!

Perfect for breakfast, a mid-day pick-me-up, or that late-night chocolate craving that only a homemade treat can cure.

Made from scratch, sourced locally, and baked with love — because fall cravings deserve something special.

Made with homemade butter, farm fresh eggs, and sourdough so they are gut friendly!

Company

Urban Homesteadings

At Urban Homesteadings, we’re more than just a bakery — we’re a community-centered sourdough specialty shopbuilt on the belief that real food brings people together.
Founded and owned by a female U.S. Air Force veteran, our business is rooted in resilience, service, and the simple joy of feeding others well. But more than that — it’s born from a deeply personal journey of healing, reconnection, and renewal.

A lot of people don’t know this, but I didn’t know anything about sourdough until the spring of 2024. I was searching for balance in my life & my body after returning stateside from over 9 years overseas with the Air Force. The transition was hard — my body didn’t respond well to the quality of food available here, and everything felt a little… off.

Then I got pregnant with our twins — a miracle after years of IVF. Their birth was both the most incredible and most traumatic experience of my life. I lost my uterus that day, along with the ability to carry children again. But we had one embryo left… and thanks to our amazing doula, who carried and birthed our final baby, we now have what we lovingly call our three rexes — Irish triplets who fill our home (and our bakery) with love and chaos.

In the haze of postpartum, PTSD, and sleepless nights, I found sourdough — or maybe, it found me. A simple conversation with a woman about butchered beef ended with a gifted sourdough starter, and my best friend (since high school!) coached me through my first loaf over two days of video calls. I never thought I could do it, but I did.

And something shifted. That first loaf didn’t just feed my family — it gave me joy. It brought me back to life. And when I shared it with others, I found something I didn’t know I was missing: purpose.

Today, I own and operate Urban Homesteadings out of my home, specializing in small-batch, naturally leavened sourdough — the kind that takes time, intention, and love. Our ingredients are simple, our flavors are thoughtful, and every bake is infused with heart.

From classic artisan loaves to bold flavor combos and fun seasonal twists, our mission is to create bread that’s not only nourishing but unforgettable. But it’s not just about the bread — it’s about connection. Whether you’re picking up a weekly loaf, grabbing a cookie for your kid, or chatting with us at the farmers market, you're a part of something real.

We’re proud to be female veteran-owned, locally operated, and deeply rooted in the community. Here, every bake matters — and every person does too!

Thank you — for walking this path with me, for allowing me to break bread with you, and for being part of this wild, wonderful journey.

It’s so much more than bread.

It’s healing. It’s hope. It’s home.

Here’s to the next chapter, the next crazy idea… and I truly hope you always, always..."Love Your Loaf"
