Shoyu Ramen is a classic Japanese dish featuring a savory soy sauce-based broth that strikes the perfect balance between salty, umami flavors. Served with tender noodles, a variety of fresh toppings like green onions and a soft-boiled egg, it’s a comforting, flavorful bowl that’s both simple and satisfying. Its rich, aromatic broth makes Shoyu Ramen a timeless favorite for ramen lovers everywhere.
Shoyu Ramen comes with two containers. The first contains 12 oz of dashi & chicken broth. The second contains 5 oz of the noodles and toppings: baby bok choy, marinated shitake mushrooms, half a marinated egg, and scallions.
Reheating instructions:
REHEATING BROTH
From frozen - to remove broth from packaging, run container under warm-hot water until broth loosens from container. Place frozen broth in a pot over low to medium heat and slowly reheat until broth is completely liquefied. Once liquefied, turn heat off until ready to eat. When ready to eat and noodles are your next step, turn heat up until broth comes to a full boil. Turn heat off and place broth in a bowl.
From thawed - place broth in a pot and place over low to medium heat. Slowly reheat until broth is hot. Turn heat off until ready to heat. When ready to eat and noodles are your next step, turn heat up until broth comes to a full boil. Turn heat off and place broth in a bowl.
COOKING NOODLES
Thin Noodles (white) - bring about 2-3 quarts of water to a full rolling boil. season water with salt. place noodles in water and mix the noodles around. cook at a full boil for 1 minute for a perfect al dente ramen noodle. If you prefer a softer noodle, continue cooking for 30 second intervals until your desired doneness. Strain and immediately place noodles in broth. Remember, the noodles will continue to cook in the broth.
Thick Noodles (yellow) - bring about 2-3 quarts of water to a full rolling boil. season water with salt. place noodles in water and mix the noodles around. cook at a full boil for 1.5 minutes for a perfect al dente ramen noodle. If you prefer a softer noodle, continue cooking for 30 second intervals until your desired doneness. Strain and immediately place noodles in broth. Remember, the noodles will continue to cook in the broth.
TOPPINGS
Shoyu Ramen
Baby bok choy - toss bok choy into the boiling water that you used for the noodles. This can be done before or after you cook the noodles. You are only heating this through. Remove and place in ramen.
Additional toppings - all additional toppings included in your kit can be added to your ramen as is.
Scallion oil - drizzle over the top of the ramen
